Understanding Brainwaves and Their Role in Therapy
Brainwaves are rhythmic electrical patterns that correlate with different states of consciousness. These waves can be influenced through sound and light therapy, guiding the brain into desired states of relaxation, focus, or sleep.
Types of Brainwaves and Their Applications
- Delta Waves (0.5–4 Hz): Deep sleep, restoration, unconscious healing. Used for sleep enhancement and relaxation.
- Theta Waves (4–8 Hz): Meditation, deep relaxation, creativity. Effective for trauma recovery and subconscious healing.
- Alpha Waves (8–13 Hz): Calm wakefulness, balance, stress reduction. Used in mindfulness training and cognitive therapy.
- Beta Waves (13–30 Hz): Alertness, active thinking, concentration. Used in ADHD management and peak performance training.
- Gamma Waves (30–100 Hz): High-level cognition, memory, consciousness. Used in neuroplasticity training and mental clarity enhancement.
